What would be your dream Valentine’s Day Date?

My husband and I are very different. I’m into artsy things, and he very much is not. I think the ideal romantic Valentine’s Day would have to be something that appeals to both of us. So I would have us spend a week in Italy. If money were no object, I’d imagine we take a private jet to Italy and stay at a hillside private mansion at the Amalfi Coast. We’d spend days on the beach, taking private tours, or traveling to nearby cities. Nights would be spent ambling along the streets, nibbling on the local cuisine and sipping on wine. On Valentine’s Day itself, I imagine us in Venice, taking a gondola ride and then spending the night at a five-star restaurant. (If budget were a consideration, I’d be content with a meal that I didn’t have to cook followed by wine and cheese as we snuggle by the fire, some soft jazz playing through the sound system.)

My Work

My romance series, unsurprisingly, follows four Italian American sisters who discover they are the secret legacy of the Medici. Their lives are endangered by factions who wish to keep them from pursuing their ancestry and any wealth and power that might come with it. They are protected by a Brotherhood of warriors who will stop at nothing to keep this family safe.

Book 1, Bleeding Heart, follows Francesca and Gianni. It was released last May.

After her father’s murder, Francesca Notaro discovers she is the secret legacy of the Medici, prophesied to return Italy to its former glory, and is now also targeted for assassination. Ignorant of her enemy’s identity and desperate to just be left alone, she is forced under the protection of Gianni DeSanto, a warrior destined to defend her no matter the cost. Their worlds collide in passion and violence, and Francesca struggles to trust her guardian. When she and her mother are kidnapped, she is told to choose between working for the enemy and saving her mother’s life or a deadly and unthinkable alternative. Gianni will have to conquer both Francesca’s fears and his own personal demons to rescue them both in time.

Book 2, Mind Control, releases this May. It follows Josephina and Vinnie.

Vinnie Falco copes with identity issues of his own as he struggles to protect the one prophesized Medici descendant who can’t seem to embrace her heritage. He, his charge Jo, the other Notaro sisters, and the rest of the Brotherhood sworn to protect them race around the world in an effort to discover who is behind the plot to destroy them. Will Vinnie’s inner turmoil cloud his judgment and cost them everything?

Staci Troilo has always loved fiction, ever since her parents read her fairy tales when she was little. Today, her interests are much more eclectic. She loves getting lost in sci-fi battles, fantasy realms, horror worlds, suspenseful intrigues, and romantic entanglements.

As goes her reading, so goes her writing. She can’t pick a single genre to focus on, so she doesn’t even try. She’s proud to say she’s a multi-genre author.

When she’s not reading or writing, she’s spending time with family and friends, possibly cooking for them, or maybe enjoying an afternoon in the pool.
